Hose Source LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Hose Source Inspections mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you log in, we collect your username or email address and password. Your password is transmitted securely to our server for authentication and is not stored on your device. An authentication token is stored locally on your device to maintain your session.

Inspection and Business Data

The App collects data related to hose and equipment inspections, including:

  • Certificate and asset details (serial numbers, model numbers, manufacturer information, expiration dates)
  • Inspection records (question responses, status, damage assessments, notes)
  • Inspector name and work order information
  • Digital signatures (drawn or uploaded) used to sign inspection records
  • Photos captured during inspections
  • Documents attached to certificates

Device Information

We collect basic device information (platform, browser type, language) to ensure the App functions correctly on your device. This information is not shared with third parties.

Device Permissions

The App may request access to the following device features:

  • Camera – to scan QR codes and barcodes on asset tags and to capture inspection photos
  • Photo Library – to select and save inspection images
  • Face ID / Touch ID – for biometric authentication (optional)

You can manage these permissions in your device settings at any time.

How We Store Your Data

Data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database to support offline use. When an internet connection is available, inspection records, photos, documents, and signatures are synced to our secure servers hosted on Microsoft Azure.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account session
  • Store and sync inspection records, certificates, and related documents
  • Generate inspection reports
  • Associate digital signatures with inspection records for compliance purposes

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following circumstances:

  • With your employer or organization as part of normal business operations (inspection records, certificates, reports)
  • When required by law, regulation, or legal process

Third-Party Services

The App does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Our servers are hosted on Microsoft Azure. No data is shared with third-party data brokers or advertisers.

Data Retention

Inspection data and certificates are retained on our servers as long as your organization’s account is active, or as required for regulatory compliance. Local data on your device can be removed by uninstalling the App.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmitted between the App and our servers, and secure token-based authentication.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated policy within the App or on our website.
